The Long Road to Justice
The Long Road to Justice (LR2J) seeks to connect our lives with God’s Triune Life through practices of compassion, mercy and justice at CHIC09. LR2J is a God-centered identity. There is no justice without Jesus. And so wherever Compassion, Mercy and Justice is under investigation and engagement, we relate the Triune God, the church, and the world together – especially through ingesting God’s Story – the Bible.
At CHIC09, the LR2J team believes that participation in the Kingdom of God is a life embedded in God’s justice. Injustice is the work of principalities and powers; justice is a life encounter with God’s work on the cross-to heal wounds and to restore lives (Luke 4). We look forward to inviting all CHIC participants into a space where we encounter God and the world as citizens of a different Kingdom.
The Long Road to Justice continues the CHIC06 adventure that included the food bagging project known as Feed My Starving Children. FMSC will return for CHIC09, and we look forward to additional interactive and formational ways for participants to journey to, connect with, and participate in God’s justice for a broken and hurting world.
