Each afternoon students are given numerous leisure options to choose from. Wednesday students were given the opportunity to attend an event called “Heaven”. In a variety of performances, students showcased their many talents in front of others.

Afternoon Options
When it comes to afternoon options at CHIC 2009, everything begins and ends at “The Hub”. “The Hub” is located in the Aquatic Center Courtyard. “The Hub” is home to almost all of the options listed below as well as the Welcome Party, which happens the Sunday of CHIC 11am – 6pm, and the Block Party, which happens every evening during CHIC from 6pm-8pm. Options Include:

- “The Wall” (200 foot “living wall” that students will graffiti)
- Themed Easel Painting and Writing
- Friendship Bracelet Trees
- Letter/Journal/Creative Writing Table
- Crafts: Wire Art/Book Marks/Sidewalk Chalk/Stenciling

- Open Fields
- Ultimate Frisbee Tournament
- 3 v 3 Basketball Tournament
- Including Dunk Contest
- Volleyball Tournament

- A Recreation tent with TONS of options for you to choose from. Rec Tent is located at the Hub near the athletic fields.
Skate Park
- Bring your board and your helmet!
- Shuttle will pick skaters up at “The Hub”
- Awesome Park!
“Heaven”–Wednesday 2pm-4pm
- A place where all students can display their unique culture and gifts given by God
- Located in the Presidential Courtyard
- Sign up before CHIC
- Sign up during CHIC at the Recreation Tent (located at “The Hub”….Aquatic Center Parking Lot)
The “Cooling Station”
- A place for Students to come and “Chill”. Laid back, relaxed, lounging environment
- Located in the Presidential Courtyard
- Available every afternoon at CHIC
- Chalk, Hacky Sacks, Journal/Letter writing experience
- Prayer Labyrinth–a guided, maze-like prayer walk
- Some craft/painting options available
The Amazing UT Pool!
- Awesome place to cool off
- High Dive
- Olympic Size lap pool
- Modest Swimwear is awesome
The UT Bowling Alley
- Located in UT’s “Down Under”

Rest
- Maybe you spend an afternoon resting! It’s great for the soul and a wonderful way to connect with God!

Heaven Signups
“Heaven” is a unique cultural experience for students from different backgrounds, races, and passions, to come and share what God has given them in gifts, talents, and culture, with the rest of the students and leaders at CHIC 2009. Students are encouraged to bring with them to CHIC a gift of talent through song, dance, poem, rap, or any other form of creative expression to share on our outdoor stage during the week at CHIC 2009. We hope “Heaven” makes CHIC a wonderful place where all cultures and backgrounds are embraced and given the opportunity to share who they uniquely are in this wonderful Kingdom of God.
