56 Days – Shachah

From the Shachah website:

Shachah – The Hebrew word for worship. A verb meaning to bow down, to prostrate oneself, to crouch before God in worship.

This definition keeps in focus the essence, ministry and vision of the band Shachah. With their fresh and unique style, the band will engage the body of Christ in heart-felt and sincere worship that will point people to Jesus. With their love for the Lord and using music as their tool, they desire to build bridges of worship uniting cultures in this generation. Their songs cover a broad range of styles which allow them to minister to various cultures. 1 Corinthians 2:2 is the main inspiration and influence when writing lyrics for their original songs.

72 Days – Flyleaf

From Flyleaf’s website:

flyleaf

“A flyleaf is the blank page at the front of a book,” explains Mosley. “It’s the dedication page, the place you write a message to someone you’re giving a book to. And, that’s kind of what our songs are — personal messages that provide a few moments of clarity before the story begins.”

With their tight knit chemistry, compassionate approach and songs that haunt the mind hours after they’ve stopped playing, Flyleaf are turning heads and leaving crowds wanting more. Indeed, their story has just begun.

81 Days – Asylumz

Asylumz

Asylumz

From the Asylumz website:

2½ years ago Newsong LA Community Church led by pastor Adam Edgerly launched a church on the streets of L.A.’s notorious skid row, America’s homeless capital; no walls, no building, just the word, food, clothing, the people, and the street corner of Wall and Winston. Out of this church comes a group called Asylumz, a name coined by Pastor Dave Gibbons, and a sound called Worsh-hop. Indeed Worsh-hop is Worship in new skins, the sound was developed by Xealot Music through the production of Mercy Diamonds, and named by DJ redeemed of the 12thtribe out of Bakersfield CA.

89 Days – LOST AND FOUND

Front View

Front View

LOST AND FOUND is back for their fourth CHIC.

LOST AND FOUND is Michael Bridges and George Baum. George plays piano, and Michael plays guitar. They call their music “speedwood.” Simply put, it is two guys playing acoustic instruments as hard and fast as they can and occasionally singing a ballad. Others have suggested that their music is “the intersection of the Ramones and John Denver.” This is, as you might imagine, a relatively deserted intersection.

Michael and George developed an interactive style as they introduced themselves to audiences throughout the United States on their first concert tour. LOST AND FOUND traveled from New York to St. Louis, to Miami, to San Diego, to Seattle and back to New York on BICYCLES. During those 340 days, they sang more than 260 times at schools, camps, churches, and colleges. With no support vehicle and no particular training regimen, the year truly proved to be a journey of faith. To this day, their concerts include stories of their lives and their travels along with their songs. The performances are a bit like having Michael and George over to your living room for conversation and music—it’s more of a dialogue than a presentation.

Though they mostly fly places these days, LOST AND FOUND concerts still have the spirit of two guys riding their bikes around the country, meeting people, forming friendships, and selling original recordings of their songs from out of their backpacks. This casual air is melded together with the song-writing skills that won grand-prize in the John Lennon song-writing contest and the experience that comes from continuing to perform over 100 times each year. Michael and George model and proclaim, “God calls us to do what we can with what we have.” Their words, stories and music communicate the message of God’s love in Christ in this unique way.
